I'm sometimes asked to take shots in many formats at the same time - landscape, portrait, super-tall portrait, super-wide letterbox etc. It's obviously possible, (and understandable) but tricky when photographing people, where the best expressions are often just momentary. Shooting further away and allowing space around the subject (with a view to cropping later) is one solution, but the quality can be compromised after cropping. Generative AI is a great tool to use post-shooting, to get images in extended formats. It's not always possible with some backgrounds, but can be a really useful tool for extending images horizontally and vertically. (Thanks Keith for the knowledge !)
